DESCRIPTION:The Energy Auditor course provides in-depth information on energy audit terminology\, principles and skills for calculating cost effective building shell retrofit strategies and generating work orders. The course follows the Department for Energy’s standardized curriculum for Energy Auditor – Single Family and has been modified to align with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL) Job Task Analysis for an Energy Auditor. The structure of the course includes lecture\, discussion and practical experience through hands-on skill sets. \nThis course can also serve as a review to prepare participants for the Building Performance Institute’s (BPI) written and field exams for certification as an Energy Auditor. Learn more about Home Energy Professional certification. As a BPI Test Center\, the Montana Weatherization Training Center proctors both exams for additional fees. These exams can be arranged by request. \nCandidates must be approved by BPI to challenge the EA online and field exams. The exam costs $325 and $650\, respectively (this fee is covered for Montana Weatherization Assistance Personnel. DESCRIPTION:Building Science Fundamentals is a LIVE! virtual seminar that teaches the basic knowledge needed to design and build durable\, energy-efficient\, affordable\, and healthy buildings. Our past registrants have benefitted tremendously from the interactive sessions with Dr. Lstiburek where questions are encouraged. Because of that\, we limit attendance to 50 or so. Each $595.00 series consists of 4 live virtual sessions of instruction.
