SUMMARY:Webinar - Increasing Black Business Participation in Clean Energy: An Economic Imperative and Opportunity
DESCRIPTION:Join this two-part webinar series to hear from CDFI leaders of color\, green financing experts\, and government leaders about the variety of financial sources and opportunities\, and how your organization can access them and share them with your clients and communities. \nThe African American Alliance of CDFI CEOs\, Emerald Cities Collaborative\, and Prosperity Now have partnered to deliver this high impact\, timely\, two-part webinar series. The series is designed to increase the participation of Black-led Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFIs) and entrepreneur serving organizations (ESOs) in the clean energy space. \nRecord climate mitigation spending on the part of the U.S. government through bills such as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act\, coupled with Administrative measures such as Justice 40\, have created a window of opportunity that can foster economic and wealth building opportunities for Black people and communities. But we must act fast to bring the organizations that capitalize and support Black businesses into the fold. Otherwise\, these wealth-building opportunities may be lost forever. Black-led CDFI’s and ESO’s can play a critical role in ensuring that these billions in community investment dollars not only foster investments in Black and Brown communities\, but that the money made off these investments\, directly benefits the Black businesses and communities that are represented in our nation’s extreme wealth disparities. \nConfirmed speaker list includes: \nLenwood Long\, President and CEO\, The African American Alliance of CDFI CEOs\nDr. Bakeyah Nelson\, Climate justice expert\nTrenton Allen\, CEO\, Sustainable Capital Advisors\nDonnell Baird\, CEO and Founder\, BlocPower\nStephen Brown II\, Founder of the Clean Energy Fund of Texas\nWatchen Bruce\, President & CEO\, Baltimore Community Lending\, Inc \nSession 2 – March 8\, 2023\, 10:00am – 12:00pm PST \nClick here to register.
