SUMMARY:Webinar - Performance Commissioning: Delivering High-Performance Buildings and Enabling Electrification
DESCRIPTION:Performance Commissioning: Delivering High-Performance Buildings and Enabling Electrification\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCommissioning (Cx) is one of the most impactful actions you can take to ensure your building performs as intended — both today and into the future. Performance commissioning is often the missing step in both new construction and low-carbon retrofit projects and is a leading reason buildings fail to meet energy targets\, systems do not function as designed\, and low-carbon technologies experience premature failure. \nIn this session\, you’ll learn what performance commissioning is\, how it differs from traditional approaches\, and why it is essential for both new construction and retrofit projects. You’ll also gain insight into how it supports electrification and ensures reliable\, efficient\, and long-term building performance. \nWHAT YOU WILL LEARN \n\nWhat is performance commissioning\, how it differs from traditional functional checks\nWhy commissioning is critical for both new construction and retrofit projects\nKey operational\, energy\, and cost benefits of implementing performance Cx\nAvailable resources and emerging tools to support commissioning efforts\n\nRESOURCES \n\nBasics of energy management and commissioning (AHR presentation)\nCommercial building electrification guide (has commissioning sections)\nCSA Z5000:26 Building commissioning for energy using systems\n\nAUDIENCE \nBuilding owners and property managers\, building operators\, contractors\, engineers\, and anyone interested in improving building performance and long-term value. \n\nRegister \n\n\n\n\nThursday\, May 21\, 202610:00 AM to 11:30 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPRESENTED BY\nStephanie Poole\, BEng\, DipED\, PEng\, PMP\, Principal | SES Consulting\nBrad White\, BEng\, DipED\, PEng\, PMP\, President | SES Consulting

SUMMARY:Webinar - Urban Business District Lighting Review
DESCRIPTION:Urban Business District Lighting Review\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOutdoor urban lighting can be a challenging and often poorly understood endeavor. More is not necessarily more for either human vision or security. This discussion is based on a recent series of walks through several areas of downtown Seattle at night with a varied group of participants looking critically at existing installation types and opportunities for improvement. It was originally delivered to the Downtown Security forum in March 2026. \nEnergy effective lighting design begins with a fundamental understanding of human perception and how we may use carefully targeted light to achieve visual goals while minimizing energy use and overall cost. This is as true for exterior lighting as it is for interior. \nThis discussion will offer a review of human perception leading to practical tips on how to consider effective lighting including concepts. Real world examples will be used to illustrate effective design approaches as well as some cautionary tales. \nAUDIENCE \nThis discussion will be appropriate for anyone interested in exterior urban lighting applications. \n\nRegister \n\n\n\n\nThursday\, May 28\, 202610:00 AM to 11:00 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPRESENTED BY\nShaun Darragh\, Principal | SPD Light Studio

SUMMARY:Webinar - Deliver High Performance Heat Pump Retrofits
DESCRIPTION:Deliver High Performance Heat Pump Retrofits\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHeat pumps are receiving more attention from our industry and homeowners than ever before. And unless you have a plan for how to retrofit this equipment into existing homes\, the results may disappoint you. In this session\, David Richardson will layout a blueprint for how you can add High Performance Heat Pump Retrofits to your product offerings and avoid the most common pitfalls. \nThe following subjects will be covered in this session: \n\nWhat an Olympic shooter can teach us about heat pumps\nAiming at the right targets and how to know if you miss them\nHigh-Performance Heat Pump Retrofits – What\, Why\, and How\nTesting\, Design\, Installation\, and Verification – HP Retrofit Pillars\nFive Tips to Deliver High-Performance Heat Pump Retrofits\nNext Steps\n\nWHAT YOU WILL LEARN \n\nStrengthen your confidence in creating a retrofit heat pump scope of work\nA process to add High Performance Heat Pump Retrofits to your product offerings\nIdentify and avoid the most common pitfalls to high-performing heat pump retrofits\n\nAUDIENCE \nAnyone who wants to learn more about heat pump retrofits done the right way: \n\nOwners\nManagers\nSalespeople\nComfort Consultants\n\nABOUT THE PRESENTER \n\n\n\n\nDavid joined National Comfort Institute full time in 2010 as a curriculum developer and trainer. In this role\, he develops and teaches practical\, real-world training focused on the HVAC and Home Performance industries. He has been involved in Performance-based contracting since 2001. This experience allowed him the opportunity to diagnose and correct many HVAC and Home Performance issues over the past decade. In addition\, David writes monthly columns for various industry publications to help increase awareness on the importance of performance testing. David is a regular presenter at many industry conferences working to spread the message of Performance-based contracting. Besides holding all NCI certifications\, David has held certifications as a HERS rater\, BPI building analyst\, and is a BPI field and written exam proctor.\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister \n\n\n\n\nThursday\, June 4\, 202610:00 AM to 11:00 AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
